Listening Difficulties of Non-English Majored Freshmen at Tay Do University, In Vietnam

Listening skill plays an important role in studying a foreign language, especially English. However, students face lot of difficulties English listening. This study aims to find out the status and listening comprehension 149 non-English majored freshmen majoring Pharmacy, Accounting, Business Administration, Food Technology, Information Technology at Tay Do University. A achievement test was offered when participants were TOEIC-based course 1. The research results found some problems due (1) lack vocabulary knowledge, (2) inability recognize distinguish sounds, (3) limited reasoning ability use strategies such as judgment, taking notes, or memorizing, (4) concentration. above also showed issues which teachers need pay attention help learners improve their skill.
